With the climb up Bunnell Brook, Snow depths ranged from nothing to 2-3 inches in places which mixed with wet leaves and mud made for interesting hiking. Saw no one on this hike but had some tracks in front of me that continued on to Unknown Pond while I doubled back. Stopped at the cabin to change layers-- it was a wet slick snow day and glad to be out of the wind to do change. Brought micro spikes but did not use them. Glad for mittens on the way down. The muck on Bunnell did not seem so bad on the way out. |
