Comments
Comments: took advantage of the open road for this hike today. quite snowy coming through the Notch and the summits were all socked in, Reroute avoids the big crossing on old trail and pretty much follows winter route of past few years . Further up reroute avoids Irene damage and climbs high on the bank..quite muddy today for sure in there though there is a stockpile of rock for stepping stones etc. Main reroute around the beaver pond wanders at times but goes through some lovely areas and some fine open woods. Gradually saw snow on the trees..the ground frozen solid above 4000 feet and there was minor snow accumulation to the summit with much rime ice on trees...gorgeous. The tower covered in rime which was pretty for sure. Some in and out views as we headed back over Signal Ridge..very nice day out with Valerie
