Comments
Comments: The first mile of Starr King trail is very wet with sucking mud nearly all of this mile. After that Waumbek was easy with only two minor blowdowns (cleared one just south of the summit and one already had a walk-around trail established)There was about 4" of new snow today.

We made it to South Weeks after only a few walk-around and step-over blowdowns but from there on the trail was a mess. Sandy and the recent winds made this section nearly impassable for about half a mile then the trail disappeared. The amount of damage is unbelievable- we couldn't find a way around a field of blowdowns. Decided to turn around because of the amount of time it wold have taken to navigate around this mess.

We saw at least three moose along the ridge, naturally no time to retrieve te camera out of my pocket.
