Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: rossed water 6 times requiring boots in stream walking. Gore tex was a must or the boots would be wet. Water levels still leveling off from Sandy. Not hard crossings, but did require caution and wet boots.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blow downs from Sandy along the main trails required hopping over or crawling under. At the top, many blow downs blocked the trail requiring some clearing of debris to get through, but trail was passable.

Comments
Comments: This was a challenging hike in wet muddy conditions. It started out quite easy on the Hancock Notch Trail, but water crossings and mud and blow downs created some challenging trail conditions. As we changed to the other trails obstacles added to overall time to complete the hike.

Started at 9:00 and finished at 4:30 including a few short rests and a short lunch break. Daylight shorter so would consider 5:30 the latest time threshold to be off trail. A light dusting of snow made this a beautiful hike, but it was cold at the top and winter like conditions with temps in the 30s.
