I made the counter clockwise loop today and cleared waterbars and drainages as I hiked. Lots of water from the recent rain storms. No views, overcast and foggy all the way. A light mist early then it turned to snow fleurries at about 2500 feet. About 1 inch of snow at the top of Cabot with everything covered and a light breeze. Temps ranged from 25 to 40.
Saw 10 hikers heading up Cabot as I was heading down. No views today but Unknown Pond was really nice with snow on the trees and fog about 100 feet above the pond. Saw some moose tracks on the trails near Unknown Pond. Always great to be out hiking and doing some trail work. |
