Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The new trail that was cut due to damage from Irene had only one crossing that was low enough to be easily rock hopped with a little care.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail was in good shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None. The trail is somewhat rocky but a smart dog could avoid alot the rocky parts by skirting the woods.
Bugs
Bugs: A few at the top.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a glass case w/glasses about a mile from the top. We left them at the parking lot at the beginning of the road because of the impending Hurricane and the concern that the road may again be damaged and thus get closed. Trying to save someone a 2 1/2 mile hike to retrieve the glasses.

Comments
Comments: It was a beautiful day to be out. The views from the tower were absolutely stunning, Even though we had missed the foliage peak time , It was still an awesome sight. You must be able to see at least 42 other peaks from this vantage point on Carrigan. Not sure exactly, However it was impressive.
