| Comments: |
Imp Trail was bootable, though there was a lot of blue ice. Light traction not a bad idea. North Carter Trail had an inch or so of new snow, but also bootable with light traction. Snowshoes recommended for bushwhack to Mt. Lethe. Carter-Moriah Trail between North Carter Trail and South Carter had some drifting - snowshoes recommended. From South Carter to Zeta Pass, hardpack. Snowshoes recommended from Zeta Pass to Carter Dome along Carter Dome trail. Descent off Carter Dome on Carter-Moriah Trail is a bit tricky - many opted to use crampons. Snowshoes worked fine for climb up to Wildcat A - slide has a decent footbed, though you'll want traction of some sort (snowshoe crampons seemed fine), as the footbed climbs diagonally up the slide. Snowshoes also a good idea from A to D. Bootable from D down ski trails. |
