Trail quickly turned into a trace of snow. As we approached the ranger station there was 2 inches of snow. Above headwall exposed rock with pockets of snow. Felt like a winter day with the cold temperatures and wind. We had our winter gear and face protection was nice to have. Cog and auto road were closed so inside the building there were only hikers. What a treat! They should do this at least once a year! The summit was in the clouds but we got views on the descent. Microspikes needed for the descent. |
