Comments
Comments: A leisurely hike to Russell Pond and beyond. A sunny start to clouds to drizzle rain on back to Russell Pond from Wassataquoik Lake. That night a wicked storm with high winds and rain (4-5 inches at Chimney Pond reported) creating high water at stream crossings. Next morning traversed streams with rangers upstream from normal crossing on the Wassataquoik Stream crossing at the two lean-tos campsite . Water current was raging. At wider mouth of stream we crossed, two or three at a time holding poles out parallel to ground for more stability. There were four of us plus a lost dog crossing the streams. Thanks to Ranger Greg and former ranger Tom for their knowledge of stream crossings.
