Comments
Comments: Proper route to summit was generally dry and in good shape.

Navigation was a little tricky (hadn't read the AMC Guide in advance). Descended to the logging road, then followed some yellow blazes and soon found myself at the pond (which I could tell was off base per the map). Yellow blazes were apparently from the old Horseshoe Pond Loop. No issues getting to the pond, though the trail was muddy in that low point.

Actual Horseshoe Pond Trail doesn't get within visual distance of the pond. Instead, it follows the road (not on the AMC map) until just before the end of it, then turns at a boulder (yellow flagging tape), goes sort of diagonally across a quasi-meadow, then hops into the woods (yellow blaze and yellow flagging tape).
