Comments
Comments: Lots of drifed snow on the jordan pond trail to the Pond trailhead. Best to simply head up park loop road to where Pond Trail crosses. Pond trail is hard packed with 2-3 inches of loose snow on top, easily bare booted if you choose to do so. Pemetic SW Trail up to ridge is generally hard packed with a few inches of snow; there are pathces of drifting snow with depths of 12 to 18 inches and a few bare rocks. The Pemetic Mountain Trail above the trees is a combination of some stretches of hard packed frozen granular snow, some ice (easily avoided), the occasional drift and a lot of bare rock; this section is easily barebootable though microspikes make crossing the ice easier. An easy hike for a perfectly clear day in Acadia
