With the exception of the col (drifts up to a foot deep), there wasn't much powder on this entire loop. Generally hard, frozen granular with some blue ice bulges and a few bare spots (from runoff). Not enough snow to bother with snowshoes (also some annoying postholes in the frozen granular base). Microspikes necessary for some icy areas. |
