Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The water ar Joe's whole is a little high and the rocks are a bit slippery. Make sure any to water proof any phones or camera's. I don't think there is any chance of drowning but it is likely to slip fall and get soaked. on a more positive note its is incredibly refreshing after a long hike

Bugs
Bugs: My wife her brother and I were using Off clip-ons. (a trick I used as ROTC instructors in the pacific northwest) and were fine until my wife's died. I left the batteries in the car and gave her mine. So I have a few mosquito bites and two chiggers on my legs. But we were all wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts and that was the worst of it.

AT at Joe's whole

Great trail. Perfect for dogs who can hang for over 5 hour. The Kennebec River pub and Brewery not only provided and awesome post hike meal/drinks but also allowed Darby to hang out with us on their deck.

I recommend minimalist shoes because of all the water on the trail. My wife and I had ours on and it was no problem (and quite refreshing) to get our feet wet but her brother had to take his shoes off and go barefoot a few times.
