Nice outlook points over Penobscot Bay and Megunticook Lake. Trails well maintained in Camden Hills State Park. Many options for loop trips in the state park's trail system. Observation tower at the top of Mt Battie as well as an auto road for tourists.
The views from Ocean Lookout are down the south coast of Penobscot Bay. If you go a short distance down the Mt Megunticook Trail there is a nice view point out to Penobscot Bay to the east. From Ocean Lookout go on Ridge Trail to get to the wooded summit of Mt Megunticook, do not follow the Mt Megunticook Trail as it leads down hill.
Some of the ledges would be difficult if wet. Luckily the rain held off today. Saw a number of other hikers today. |
