Parked at Jordan Pond North Lot, a few spaces open when I arrived, all lots at Jordan Pond full with cars lining the roads when I got back - Can't wait for the shuttle to start it makes it so much easier! |

Sargent East Cliffs quite steep - not the most dog friendly of trails, all others fine. You have water at deer brook, sargent mountain pond at at the tea house but long stretches in the sun without some bring some extra. Met a few heading up Penobscot. |

Out in force until I got up on the ridges above the trees - several go through the bug spray, nice wind up on the ridges kept them at bay. |

I would rate as the best ridge walk in Acadia - miles of open ridge without the crowds of Cadillac. looped over summits via carriage roads and trail up Sargent and down Penobscot. Most trails are nice pleasant walks though stretch up deer brook and sargent east cliffs is steep - east cliffs is the steepest approach up Sargent and quite rocky. Some of the trickier ledges/scrambles were wet today so all hikers were taking it slow and careful to avoid slips, you'll need to watch your footing in a few spots. All other trails were nice and dry with the exception of the occasional spot of mud or water. Great day of open ridge walking, clouds broke to blue skies as I broke out in the open heading up the east cliffs trail. Met many people out on the trails today. |
