Comments
Comments: I started the hike mid afternoon so I walked in rain for the last half of the hike. But the rain on the early Spring leaves was a pleasant sight.
I hadn't hiked Burnt Meadow Mtn since 2007 so this was the first time on the new trails.
There is a map of the trails at the trailhead board. The trail signs are new. The original Burnt Meadow Mtn trail still follows the same route to North Burnt Meadow Mtn summit (blue blazes). Continue to the north side of the summit to the cairn where the Twin Brook Trail (yellow blazes) descends on an obvious pathway. Continue on this trail to the signed trail junction with the Stone Mtn trail (blue blazes). Unfortunately the clouds/rain did not allow for views from Stone Mtn. The return out the Twin Brook trail is a nice forest walk. Take care not to trip up on the small stumps in the trailway. All in all the new trail network makes for a nice loop hike which is better than the out and back on the old trail.
