Trails: Bushwhack
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, August 20, 2026
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I drove my truck to just below the summit, as Zach reported. Not too bad in my truck but some may want to walk. The road to Coburn trail was pretty rough, and I suggest parking at the big junction area and walking the rest.

Comments
Comments: I hiked the Coburns separately, the whack to the East peak was short and thick, not terribly steep or difficult but the register was a pain to find, reminded me of East Scar Ridge. It's in a flat thick spot and its on a snapped off tree and needs replacing. There is a slight view of the main peak from a false summit on the ridge, I curved up this way to avoid the steepest part rather than a direct line. I saw a moose on the way up and again on the way down. The hike only took around 1:15 total for 1.3 miles and 600' of gain. After dinner I went up to the main peak on the trail to watch a spectacular sunset. There were atvs out on the road but nobody on the hiking trail, which is unmarked but easy to follow.
