 | Comments: |
Classic shoulder season conditions. Logging road was a mix of frozen granular and bare ground (one might be able to piece together a snowshoe trip, but probably not if going to Bucks Ledge or Lapham). Bucks Ledge trails ranged from ice monorail in the flats (generally no more than 6 inches of snowpack remaining) to completely bare on the ascent up to the ledge (south facing open woods). Snow/sleet squall dropped a coating mid-afternoon. I was able to bareboot roundtrip with temperatures above freezing, but spikes may be useful. |
