The Tote Road is perfectly packed down by snow machines. We snowmobiled the entirety of the Tote Road 2/26/26 from Abol CG around the west side of Baxter and on up north to Matagamon Wilderness Campground. Great spot to treat yourself to a meal or hot coffee. Continued south on 85 through the ITS corridor and eventually west on the 112-connector trail back into BSP. 2/27/26 The Abol trail to Katahdin had minor drifting over the existing pack with anywhere from 2"-12" of powder. Snow shoes from our Abol Camp site to tree line, micros through the boulder field and up through table lands. Traction was great with micros, didn't feel like crampons were necessary. Winds were calm for Katahdin with warm sun and bright blue skies on the way up that gave way to chilly overcast and gusty conditions for our decent. BSP we love you, never change... |
