 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
If you read my Sugarloaf attempt report, you’ll see a theme here. Yet another Mainer that got into a bit of a situation driving (a FWD compact car, as to not be too specific and call this person out) on a groomed snowmobile trail on Saturday and spent the night and much of the day waiting for a wrecker (was still waiting in a deep ditch as of noon). Unfortunate for this guy, there are no signs indicating it’s a snowmobile trail, hence this post. Would recommend parking on 27 at the plowed AT lot and hiking in. Plenty of tracks to the Bigs and a report posted from Saturday may give more intel. Snowshoes are likely the traction of choice as there was 2-3” of fresh snow Saturday into Sunday. |
