Worked on a drainage ditch, waterbar, and restoring an eroded section of trail. Details explained in the link below. The first mile of trail which can be either walked or driven depending on the vehicle had some muddy areas and a lot of ice. After the gate the trail was free of snow and mud for a quarter mile or so. The next half mile doesn't get much sun and still had 6" of snow. The side of the mountain heading up to the notch was completely dry and free of snow. There is snow in the notch and up to the summit. Ledges on the east side and southeast corner are all free of snow and dry. Nice day for a 15 minute ledge nap. For the first time I bushwhacked from the southern ledges down to the trail. Definitely a time saver. The trail is U shaped. This section takes about an hour to hike and by doing the bushwhack I hiked it in 20 minutes. |
