There are parking spots across Redding road at the trailhead but nothing was plowed. I shoveled a spot to park my SUV |

Trail was untouched….. I broke trail all the way to Speckled Mountain. I used televators going up the real steep part going up Speckled Mountain. I had to butt slide going back down that same spot because it was dangerous. A lot of ice under that snow. I would bring really sharp crampons if you plan on going to Speckled Mountain. Snowshoes for the rest of it… I wouldn’t attempt in spikes, it would be miserable. Great views and saw a Bard owl in between Bald & Speckled. Toe warmers today…. Worked great. |
