Checked out the new-ish universally accessible trail that runs to the top of Goat Hill in Acton. This is a sweet little hike with long and broad views in three directions from the edge of the fields that surround the summit area. Well worth the small effort to hike it. Mt. Washington was visible in the distance. There are picnic benches at the top. Snow, about 4", was moderately packed out. Note that hiking distances in feet are shown at various points on the trail kiosk map and on trail signage (which are easy to confuse with elevation benchmarks--the hill is not 3,600 feet high, lol). |
