Three 12" diameter trees together about 1/2 mile from the top of horns pond junction. They are 4-5 feet in the air, so crawling under worked fine today. None others worth mentioning. Thanks cole + co. |

Amazing day to be in the woods! Bare ground/ dusting up to moose falls tent site. I spooked two bull moose just below the tent site. They took off downhill. Spikes went on near there, some ice under fresh snow. Decent traffic, so there was a little base. Big ice flow sections on the upper half of fire warden climb. Very windy and cold above treeline, I chose to skip avery today. One set of snowshoe tracks went over the ridge to the horns. I put mine on for additional traction. there is a bit more snow, but still plenty of rocks sticking up. The climb down the horns was boney, switched back to spikes until the bottom of horn pond trail where they came off. Flurries/ blowing snow all day, didn't see anyone until I was back in the parking lot. What a great day! |
