What a difference a day makes; while yesterday's hike was sunny and in the 50s, today was a winter wonderland! We hiked on the AT in the west side of Four Ponds Public Land, ending at the transmission lines that we reached from the east last week. The snow was already falling when we parked at the Height of Land. It continued throughout the day and totaled 2-3 inches by the time we were done hiking. Some parts of the hike had more snow than others, but we were okay without using traction. All three ponds on this section of trail are pretty, but we found tiny Moxie Pond especially beautiful. Unsurprisingly, we were the only ones out on the trail today. |
