3.0 miles - turn Left

lower herd path is clear, upper herd path has a dozen blowdowns with paths around them ... bring your saw to clear a few blowdowns and this would make a nice snowshoe hike this Winter |

 | Comments: |
easy quick hike from the summer "trailhead" ... walk about a mile beyond the parking area, then look for a cairn on the path, with a yellow wooden stake leaning against a tree on the left ... turn sharp left at the stake & cairn, hike up the herd path as it grows steeper until it levels out near the summit plateau ... well traveled herd path bears left as you level out until you reach the summit cannister
foliage is near peak in NW Maine this week, great option to avoid more crowded popular areas ... peepers gotta peep
congrats to a guy who reached his 100th NE100 peak on East Kennebago monday
