Little Saturday afternoon solo hike up to all the Bauneg beg peaks. Nice 180° views at the middle summit. Ventured over to the south peak, which requires a bushwack (really just open woods), no maintained trail going out there. However, much to my delight there are trails once you get out to it and its actually more open and spacious than the other 2 peaks. Looks like they are building trails on that side but there is nothing connecting it to the middle and north peak, and I don't see any information about it. Needless to say I had the peak to myself. Great views to the southwest, you can see Pawtuckaway clear as day. Really a nice peak! Wish I could find more info about it. There is also a granite seat that was installed with a placard and inscription welcoming everyone to enjoy it. |
