Needs a lot of love matc…. The most significant areas is from between spaulding sput Northbound on the AT. A chainsaw needs to come through and clear the trail (swear it is just worse than last year)… maybe 50 blowdowns all together? Also in need of some brushing through there as well. Then the sugarloaf spur trail, whoever repainted the blazes… they are white or very light blue (talk about a way to confuse someone). |

What a beautiful day it was! It as been 9 years since I have done this trip and still epic! Saw 8 people out in total today which was a surprise for mid week! The rapid stream road was a slow go in but my rav4 and my friends subaru made it there just fine with so maneuvering around rocks and small dips (i would not call these pit… cvr has pits) the first bridge is out but the snowmobile crew made a bridge to walk on, the second bridge is still in tact. Beautiful up to abraham and over to the AT. Shocked we saw 0 thru-hikers but oh well! View on all three peaks. Heading down we took binder, which was the steep access road to the left, then once we can on the “machine only road” we were told to pick right or left. So we went right then is swung around and we continued straight and then took a right which followed the machine road on a ski trail that had its grass cut. From here we went straight down to the bottom. |
