Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A dog might not enjoy all the thick raspberry bushwhacking and tall grass. Or maybe they would.
Bugs
Bugs: Not too bad. Some mosquitos, but no issue with deer flies though I saw some.

Comments
Comments: I did a counter clockwise loop of these 4 peaks on the NH500. Northwest Black is on the NH200 list at 2,930’ and has a red canister. I almost gave up looking on the thick flat summit, it was in a weird thick spot. A few pages left from the late 80s and logbook from 2009, not full yet. Jars on the other 3 peaks with logbooks from 2020s. I took the straightest line between the peaks and hit all kinds of thick woods, logging slash and regrowth. There were good views however in the clear cuts on Black and loads of ripe raspberries. I saw 3 moose total, and I got scratched on a huge chewed antler that was hanging in a tree, (it was razor sharp!) The tightest woods were in the notch between Black and Greenough, but then from the summit of Greenough I followed an old grassy road not shown on the map due north, right back to the truck. So, one could make a very easy hike of that peak just using that route, but the other peaks will involve some whacking.
