The hike up to Abraham was average until you get about 600' elevation to summit, then you hit the rock field. Made it a fun summit to hike. Spaulding has no view at summit, but the trail continues after summit a few hundred feet where you get a great view of Sugarloaf. Blowdowns from Spauling to Sugarloaf have been cleaned up, but still many to go over, under or around. SOme areas of soft pine trail for your feet to enjoy. Green. lots of green ( moss, trees, young trees, pretty) in there. There were a few streams about midway up Abraham then nothing. There is a Spaulding tent area on the AT and a water source. But looked greener than I care to filter. Following the Alltrials route down Sugarloaf takes you down the ski trails. Might not be the best for Knees that need a gentle decent. Enjoy the trails |
