 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The signed road to the trailhead is largely OK and is passable by a Honda Accord, and I believe, an Honda Civic (I've had a couple). |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Very little water, virtually none on the ridgeline. Plan accordingly. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trail to No. 4 Mtn is in good shape, particularly the rerouted sections. The Baker Mtn. Trail, from the snowmobile trail (2.1 miles from Baker summit.) to the summit olf Baker has some severe blowdowns. In one section the blazes are not visible and the trail is all but unlocatable, unless you follow the foot-tread from the last red-diamond "blaze."
The trail up the summit cone is all but completely obliterated. I ascended through the woods to the climber's right of the visible blazes.
In its current state, it should be avoided by all except competent bushwhackers. |

 | Comments: |
Were it not for the significant blowdowns on Baker, this would be a lovely hike. |
