Well 3 of out group went out the day before and broke the trail to the first peak and what a hell of a job they did! Burke came back for a second dat in a row while the 4 of us came out too! What an incredible mountain! I have come up from the kidney pond side about 4 years ago with just about the same amount of snow! So much snow up on the peaks this year. Once we hit the peak we started over for the second one. Route finding and trail breaking with about 1-2’ of snow on top of spruce traps was tiring. We made it though! Big K even came out! Butt sliding was the game coming down the steeps as there was no way to even stand up in some places! No room for running off the trail since the trench of a snowpack was like a shoot! |
