My third attempt at Redington via the snowmobile trails this year and first successful one. Got turned around due to excessive blowdowns on the snowmobile trails the first time, then trail breaking the snowmobile trails out after a storm and again was thwarted by the blowdowns, this time I planned better (i.e. just didn’t sleep and started super early) and was able to get there. The snowmobile trails are cleared and very well packed now!! The trail however is a mess consistent with the Crockers this year. Broke trail up, tried to follow an old snowed in set of tracks but couldn’t quite locate them the whole way, wound up meandering around the trail back and forth but managed to make it. It’s a jungle gym with ample opportunity to practice your interpretive dance moves while wondering where exactly the path I broke is actually taking you, if you’re into that sort of thing I’d say god for it before the next big storm! Took me almost 3 hours to do the spur out and back lol, I’m not the fastest ever but this was ridiculous. Still a good day to be out as always, glad to finally have this area complete for winter, albeit several weeks later than I originally hoped lol. |
