Comments
Comments: I began at the Agnes Gray Elementary School in West Paris, which is closed and boarded up. The trail starts behind the school at a footbridge. Turned left onto a wide trail then soon right onto a (no longer maintained) yellow blazed trail. The trail required some care to follow, but there were plenty of (now fading) blazes. Trail crossed power lines diagonally to the right to the top of a rise then paralleled the lines a short way before veering off to connect with a logging road (which leads right to a different trailhead). Followed the logging road left and up to the S base of the summit cliffs where another logging road enters from the right at a big boundary post (leading to a 3rd trailhead?). Turned left onto the logging road which ran clockwise around the base of the ledges, through a logged over area, then up the north ridge to the flat summit. A short path leads from the logging road at the summit to the open ledge. The view from the top is less dramatic than you would think when looking up at the ledges from West Paris, but it was still nice and worth the short hike. Snow was thin--maybe about 4" or so--and somewhat crusty. Logging roads were broken out by foot traffic, and snowmobile further up.
