Both trails were in pretty good shape.
Safford Brook maintainers. There is a beaver dropping trees across the trail maybe a few tenths for the trailhead. They are active. One fresh tree was down on my way in. On the way out there were two more across the trail. Busy little beavers!! |

The hike to the AT junction is somewhat relaxed. That is where the real work starts. A couple thousand feet in elevation in around 2 miles. Some challenging scramble there and in the col between the two peaks. |
