Now that you all have gotten a laugh out of the errors in my last trail conditions report, I thought I would come back to say that I dragged my sniffly self out on Saturday afternoon to take a walk up Mt Zircon. Dirt road portion of the hike is in great shape and a lot less leaves than on Mt Blue. I read elsewhere that there is a yellow jacket ground nest near the turn for the ascent, on the left. With warming temps this week, recommend you give them a wide berth and stick to the left side of the road the last 100m before the turn and to the right when coming off the trail and on to the dirt road. |
