Comments
Comments: Just a dusting of snow, enough to make some rocks slippery, but not enough to warrant using traction. The bushwhack from the View Lookout on South to Redington is a very narrow path but well worn and flagged with very old flagging. Easy to follow now but could be a challenge in winter conditions if no one has broken trail. There were 4 hikers I passed on my way to Redington, and one set of tracks that took the logging road down to Caribou Pond Rd. I instead took the flagged trail near the Redington (the sign post on top is spelled with only one d) Summit which was well-established and ends up joining the logging road that the other hiker took. Very fast walking this way but a bit longer. I need Redington for my winter peaks and will come up from Caribou Pond Rd instead of the AT/S. Crocker and bushwhack. It took me 2.5 hrs up (via S. Crocker) and only 2 hours to return via Caribou Pond Rd. Skiing up this winter will be my choice.
