Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, July 28, 2024
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Tons of spots. (We were only the second car at 10 and the lot easily could fit twenty.)
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easy hops (though there appears to have been a bridge across the first/last one on Caribou over Moulton Brook, but it no longer there).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: These trails are in superb shape. Handful of blowdowns here and there, but nothing major and the footing is excellent most of the time. Can be tricky to follow in the alpine zone since it’s only marked with cairns (and sparsely in places).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Met one other pup on the trail today who was enjoying himself.
Bugs
Bugs: Almost none.

Comments
Comments: It’s amazing how many people don’t realize that there’s a whole wilderness zone of the WMNF that is in Maine. Haven’t done this one in four years, but it’s got a lot of bang for the buck. Will have photos and vids up soon on Instagram at quantum.moxie.
