Maine Mountain guide says to go down Attean rd for 1.4 miles to a parking area on the right. You can no longer park there. It’s posted no trespassing and video surveillance 24hr. I found a kind gentleman who lived on mill road who offered to let me park at his house near tracks. This added 1.4 mile to railroad walk…. 3 mile total to actual trailhead. |

So many views….. nearing summit, at summit, then Grand views 0.1-0.2 miles after summit. Beautiful day….backtrack to tracks, crossed tracks to a trail that led down to Attean pond….. went swimming & cooled off, then made the 3 mile walk back to my vehicle. 10 mile round trip adventure. Big, Big views for a mountain just over 2000 ft elevation. Real purpose of post is to inform of parking above. If you can find away to hike this mountain… I highly recommend! |
