| Water Crossing Notes: |
There still was water running at the small flume and down the old trail near the top. Normally by this time of the year the summit is quite dry |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The old trail up near the open area needs to be brushed in better. It is easy to take the right turn uphill onto the old trail versus the left hand makes a huge loop over ledges before coming back to the old trail no more than 200 feet up it. I supposed the reroute is more scenic but its going to take lot for the old route to disappear as its worn down to solid rock. A little damp in places. |

| Comments: |
An early hike to check out this year's blueberry crop. IMHO, it is a low year in my normal picking spots but I really didnt roam the higher areas near the summit. I did find some patches worth picking but they mostly the standard very low bush blueberries and on occasion the "silver variant. My favorite variety, the dark blue/black berries were not abundant. I was probably a week early so lots of unripe berries. |
