Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: My sedan made it a few minutes on Bentham Rd/IT-84. I parked on East Madrid and had no issue. At the summit route (roughly 2 miles to the peak), there is plenty of space to park.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are multiple routes to summit approach. One route is an on-and-off bushwhack that has to be taken by foot (the route splits with IT-84 at a Y in the road, right after crossing a wooden platform) and reconnects about a mile before the summit trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The pups had a great time with plenty of streams on the way.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies abundant.

Comments
Comments: My 2nd attempt to summit via the South approach. My first attempt started from Kingfield (off of 142) and the snowmobile trail, IT-84, was a mess. IT-84 from Philips/East Madrid Road is clear. Sadly, my sedan (Chevy Malibu) could have cleared roughly 95% but would be scrapping my undercarriage too much during the 5%.

The distance from East Madrid/ Bentham Rd to peak was strenuous, being just over 8 miles one-way. However, the summit approach is more gradual and I enjoyed gradual taking the ridge and crossing to the peak (oppose to the North side, where you go straight up the ridge). It was a hot, but relaxing hike.
