Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for a good trail dog although, I had to help mine where I normally would not have needed to because he was wearing a pack. So some dogs may need to be picked up on some of the scrambles. Some longish stretches without water for them.
Bugs
Bugs: Not too bad. Deer flies were more bothersome than mosquitoes or black flies.

Comments
Comments: I’m leaving this report because there isn’t a real recent one. There was plenty of water in the springs for filtering. There are some rather long stretches in between brooks and springs and puddles for a dog to go without though. At least on a hot day you’ll want to make sure and carry enough to share with them between streams and springs. I don’t remember any blowdowns so if there were any, they weren’t a problem. Avery Memorial campsite in the col is a nice place to camp. Though you have to climb a little to get water for supper or breakfast.
