Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Caribou Valley Rd is ROUGH. Watch out for washouts. Higher ground clearance vehicles highly encouraged. My SUV has an 8 inch clearance and parts of the road required the full clearance to maneuver safely. From the main road it’s 30 minutes to the trail head.

Comments
Comments: AT from Caribou Valley Rd is well marked and well maintained. Minimal blow downs. Rock slide between trail head and South Crocker summit had a couple slick areas, but with recent rains to be expected. Herd path to Redington is exactly that. GPS super helpful, but not required. It is marked with trail tape. Look for orange or pink tapes. Often I’d look behind me to spot trail markers. Lots of options for water access along ascent/ decent to trail head.
