Well as I was not leg ready nor did I have time in the day, I went off with my friend finishing her Ultra 8 and her two friends at 345AM start. We all headed up Old Speck, which were got some of that deep red for sunrise through the trees. The puds going up are always forgotten until you do this trail again. We all made it to the summit and after a short break for them, they went off to complete it, while I sat for another half hour and took in the sights. It was quite brisk on top and I had to put on most of my layers to hangout on top. I saw a few people in the morning and then from there and heading down which I just took my time, probably 6-10 total people I saw heading up. The parking lot was filling up with people heading to the baldpates and also old speck for the weekend and some with overnight packs. Summer is offically here! there was no snow which was great to see. |
