We parked on the west side of Rt 3 in the same place you park for Cadillac South Ridge Trail. Plenty of room. I don’t know if this gets plowed in winter or not. |

I believe both trails were blazed in blue. 10min in, we came across a mid-sized stepover/straddler that had a blaze on it. Only one on their small stepover. I don’t recall where it was. |

Third and final hike of the day on our first day in Acadia after two redlining hikes around Dorr Mtn. In the description for Cadillac South Ridge Trail on pg 435 of the guidebook,, it mentions a 0.7mi connector trail between the campground and the trail. Given the way it’s described, this is needed for redlining. It is shown on Gaia, and shows another trail diverging east from it a short ways in and also heading to the campground. The main trail seemed to be signed as part of Cadillac South Ridge Trail. I forget what the other trail was signed as but it crossed two roads before ending at the campground. Both trails were relatively flat and were actually quite enjoyable, passing through some beautiful woods on a lightly trodden footbed. Gaia had us at about 2mi, 125ft of gain, 40min. |
