Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: ****Bridge out over Cold River*** The Deer Hill Connector crosses a dam. The middle section of the dam used to have a metal plank across it. I am assuming this got wiped out by Irene. The only way across is to wade the stream which is fairly wide and 2-3 feet deep. If you want to hike Deer Hills without having to cross the stream, you still can if you use the Leach Link.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in excellent shape. A few small blowdowns.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Madison had fun and didn't seem to mind the chilly river crossing. Although I did.

Comments
Comments: Great views from a couple little peaks. No snow but quite a bit of ice in places. Carried our microspikes but were able to get around the trouble areas without them. Great time red-lining with Cath.
