Comments
Comments: This hike has been on my radar for a while, and it didn’t disappoint. This starts in the South Branch Pond campground where we camped. Plank bridges start this hike as it’s very wet/muddy for the 1st .3 miles. Flat & fast until Howe’s Brook, see water crossing notes. Climbing starts with great views of the ponds & ledges above. Many false summits until we finally reached Peaks. Tremendous views 360, a theme for the whole day. Little Knife Edge over to Traveler, in the Woods & over talus field. Lost elevation until the climb up to North Traveler. All climbs to summits were for the most part easy. Up then flat & in the trees. Lots of moose poop heading up to North. Stunning views all day! Only our group & 6 others out today. This is not an easy hike but not terrible for those who hike. No bailout points so pick a good day. An absolute must do hike.
