 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Drove up East Inlet Road and just before the Wizard Camp, we turned up a narrow growing up logging road. High clearance truck went over the water bars just fine parked when at a place that was wide and it looks like a place people park/turn around. We could have driven further up the road since even though it was steeper it was in about the same condition of what we had just driven and room at the end to turn around. |

Good day in the woods, didn't see anyone. This peak is featured in my 1976 White Mountain Guide (and yes a Maine 3k) with a full description and in the index of this trail-less mountain. We parked about a mile up the logging road and then walked up the road further about another mile and we discovered yes we could have driven it. We entered the woods and whacked towards the col of the summit bumps. Lots of hobblebush and wet areas that were once skid roads that have grown in. From the recognized summit nearby are some nice open views towards prospect and Bosebuck (where we were headed next) and beyond. On the descent we decided to go straight down from the summit. It was steeper but it easier woods walking, would go up that way if I was to return. Nice obstructed views north too. A nice peak and enjoyed the peace and quiet. |
