I was not able to get far beyond Lane Brook Campsite on Old Boundary Road with my Honda Fit and had to park there and go the rest of the way to the trailhead without it. I did pass one pickup truck going all the way in (not a hiker) but the roadside alder is going to scratch paint jobs and the way gets pretty rough. Nevermind the prospect of backing up a long way to let another vehicle pass. |

The old firewarden's trail shows signs of recent improvements, including blowdown and brush cutting, and several detours around wet areas. There is a new(ish?) summit cannister and register book at the top. The trail is muddy in places (what trail isn't this year?), but nothing too terrible. |

Green Mountain Trail (old fire warden's trail)
Firetower frame appears to be in good condition. There's a ladder (no staircase). I climbed high enough for a good view and did not go into the cab, which looked sketchy. |
