Comments
Comments: I went up early to check out the blueberries that are at their peak. Best berries in the last 10 years. I ran out of containers to carry them down in. If you want berries, head out soon as the majority of the berries are ripe and plump. Predicted hot weather later in the week will start to take its toll.

One thing to be aware is that portions of the Red trail below the Starr Trail and the combined path to summit goes through many open areas of broad ledge with scrubby growth. The trails are blazed minimally with orange paint on the rocks and occasional trees and some small cairns. It is very easy to get turned around especially when picking blueberries. The Starr trail below the junction is particularly easy to lose. Most traffic skips the Starr trail but it makes for a nice partial loop, just be careful not to lose the trail.

The other thing to be aware of is the summit area is in full sunlight with little shade and it gets hot up there, bring sunblock and plenty of water, it is easy to get dehydrated.
